FINDING

MY FAIRYTALE

From a young age, I remember being different from all the princesses around me. On my fifth birthday, I wore a daring crop top and spiked hair while all my friends wore Cinderella gowns. This day was the start of my lifetime of lessons that I carry into every day. I eventually found the confidence to accept myself, even though I didn’t fit into the standards of what a young girl was supposed to like. Now, as I study Fashion Marketing at Savannah College of Art and Design, I’m using my work to create a space of positivity, encouragement, and acceptance for others who feel the same way. Being a rockstar instead of a princess might not be the typical fairytale, but I’m proud of who I am and where I’m going.
